CAMP TON-A-WANDAH
HENDERSONVILLE, NC

For Sarah, Camp Ton-A-Wandah wasn't just a wedding venue—it was a piece of her childhood history. Located in the mountains of Hendersonville, NC (just outside Flat Rock), this historic summer camp offered the perfect setting for a wedding weekend that felt less like a formal event and more like a reunion of best friends.

Sarah and Matt embraced the full "summer camp experience." The celebration kicked off the day before with a lake day, where guests took full advantage of the camp’s famous water slide and docks. By the time the wedding day arrived, everyone was already relaxed and connected, setting the tone for a day purely focused on joy.

The design was a brilliant mix of rustic charm and vibrant, playful energy. The couple leaned into the camp theme with "Admit One" ticket escort cards, but elevated the look with an explosion of colorful wildflowers and fun details like disco balls tucked into the floral arrangements. The ceremony took place in the open-air pavilion, framed by the camp’s signature stone architecture and the lush green forest.

But the real party started during the transition. Bringing a taste of New Orleans to the North Carolina mountains, Sarah and Matt led their guests in a high-energy Second Line march from the ceremony to the reception. You can see more of this in their wedding video!

The reception itself was held in the camp gymnasium—a space that could have felt stark, but was transformed into an epic party hall. They kept the nostalgia alive with the visible basketball hoop and wooden floors that stayed packed all night. From the Sarah and Matt taking a plunge into the lake to the final dance under the gym lights, this day was the definition of "fun."
